adelphi
adelphi is a leading independent think tank and public policy consultancy on climate, environment and development with a mission to improve global governance through research, dialogue and consultation. adelphi offers demand-driven, tailor-made services for sustainable development, helping governments, international organizations, businesses and nonprofits design strategies for addressing global challenges.
Being the hosting organisation behind the SEED programme, adelphi has gathered considerable experience in working with MSMEs in the African context, assisting them in developing new business ideas, gaining access to finance and scaling up their activities. As part of the Indian WEEE Recycle project financed through SWITCH-Asia (2010-2014), adelphi collaborated with a wide range of public and private stakeholders, putting a particular emphasis on formalising workers from the informal sector. Within the same project, a pan-Indian collection mechanism was established, capacities of informal workers were built and the results and lessons learnt were disseminated across a wider audience. Other previous and on-going assignments relate to formal-informal partnerships which effectively channel e-waste from the formal to the informal sector, as well as resource efficiency potentials of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) in India and Georgia.
As part of the E-MAGIN project, adelphi will take the lead for implementing WP1 (value chain assessment and best practice analysis) and WP5 (policy dialogue and dissemination).
